Transition to new library begins
The view from Seventh Street.
Although we are closed to the public to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and comply with Gov. Pritzker's Stay at Home order that lasts through April 30, we have begun the transition to the new library at 227 S. Seventh St. Construction details are wrapping up with landscaping, interior finishes, furniture installation, and more. We are packed and prepared for the move, and we are working with the moving company to establish a moving date. We are grateful to our essential building team and crews for their work on this project. To be safe during this time, they use smaller crews to provide for appropriate social distancing and work according to COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. You can view interior photos of the new library at https://www.gpldnewbuilding.org/post/a-look-inside-the-new-library.

In addition, Geneva Park District approved plans for the playground to be added at the corner of Sixth and Franklin streets, and we hope construction will begin later this spring. You can view plans for the new park at https://www.genevaparks.org/_pdf/Library-Park-2020.pdf. We will provide additional updates with information on our moving date and our prospective opening date as we know more. We appreciate your patience as we work with a fluid schedule in response to COVID-19.
